Showcasing The Best Of British Jewellery Designers
|Here at Nude Contempoary Jewellery we are proud to anounce our new featrued designer for April 2014|
What's your background and what inspired you to become a jewellery designer?
I studied 3 dimensional design at Stourbridge College of Art and Design after I left school. We visited Birmingham School of Jewellery when looking at possible universities and I knew there and then that I wanted to make contemporary jewellery like the work I saw on display.
How would you describe your customers?
Clients who appreciate quality design, jewellery that is unusual and that appreciate the knowledge that it hasn't’ been mass-produced.
What is your favourite piece of jewellery? (either made or purchased)
I would have to say my wedding and engagement ring made by Mirri Damer. It was a surprise proposal from my now husband. He had remembered the very ring I pointed out of hers, which I had fallen in love with months earlier.
Which celebrity would you love to wear your jewellery and why?
Cate Blanchett. She is sophisticated and beautiful, so would wear it well!
If you hadn’t been successful as a designer what would your plan B have been?
I nearly went on to study glass design after college, as I was particularly interested in lighting too, but my lecturer informed me there was more money to be made in jewellery!
However, in another creative life, I could see myself as a milliner.
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
A diffusion range which that I am just about to start designing!
