Its mothers day just around the corner, so we thought we would write a post about some mothers that have spent a lot of their lives in the light of fame and still managed to be stay seamlessly elegant.

Angelina Jolie

I remember seeing Angelina Jolie in 'Girl Interpreted' where she played a troubled  young woman who liked to cause trouble in a mental institute, I was instantly drawn to her as an actor. Angelina has been cited as one of the most beautiful woman in the world by many prestigious magazines, but apart from her beauty and acting career she has a love of children and is a dedicated humanitarian. Angelina adopted her first child in 2002 from a small town in Cambodia and has since had 3 biological children and adopted 2 more children from Vietnam and Ethiopia.

Her jewellery style changes from understated elegance wearing pearls to quite bold statement pieces with large gems and serpentine rings.

The second picture shown above Angelina Jolie is in her wedding dress which is embellished with pictures her children drew.

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was an iconic female figure and actress starting her career in the late 40's as a ballet dancer then moving on to theatre and film. Her style was modern, sleek and glamorous earning her place in the best dressed list hall of fame in 1961; she inspired fashion long after her death. Audrey has 2 sons Sean and Luca, The youngest Luca is currently in the process of writing a book about his mother.

Audrey Hepburn's style matches Nude's own Pearl collection and her 60's dresses would definitely pair with our 'Glitter-ball' collection featuring large textured disks of silver.

Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor was one of the greatest screen actresses of her time and had a known passion for jewellery with a legacy. She was also well-known for having married eight times, and having many romances! Elizabeth had two sons and two daughters one biological and one adopted, by the time she was 39 she was already a grandmother and Impressively before she died she had ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Elizabeth loved dazzling jewellery that reflected her personality and once had a gentleman propose by landing a helicopter near her and gently sprinkling diamonds onto her.

Emma Thompson

Emma Thompson is an amazing actor and has frequently played the 'mother' role in films which carries on into her personal life where she has a daughter Gaia and adopted son Tindy. Tindy is a Rwandan orphan and former child soldier, Emma and her husband met him when he was 16 whilst at a refugee council event.

Emma Thompson’s is stylish and often wears quirky jewellery, we think she would wear our 'Vanilla Links' multi link necklace.

Why not enter our Mothers Day competition, and the chance to win £100 worth of handmade designer jewellery.
