My approach to designing with black diamonds is rooted in my background at Central St Martins, where I learned to appreciate the interplay of light and shadow. Unlike clear stones that sparkle through transparency, black diamonds shine through their polished surface lustre. This unique property makes them perfect for our sculptural and textured settings, where the metalwork is just as important as the gemstones themselves. We often incorporate these 'noir' gems into our Atlantis and Maisie collections, using 'orbital' bands that allow the stones to appear as if they are floating in space, creating an unconventional eternity band that breaks away from high-street standards.
