2025 in Review: A Year of Sculptural Stories and Bespoke Commissions

Reflecting on a Year at the Bench

Looking back at 2025, the one word that comes to mind is connection.

Working as a bespoke jeweller in Surrey is a deeply personal profession. Every piece that leaves my bench carries a story—from the quiet thrill of a secret proposal to the celebration of a milestone decade, or the emotional transformation of an inherited heirloom.

2025 was a year defined by creativity, molten gold, and incredible trust. It was a year where I pushed the boundaries of my own sculptural style while helping you celebrate your most precious moments.

As we step into 2026, I wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the favourite pieces that defined the year at Nude Jewellery.

The Love Stories: Engagement & Wedding

There is no greater privilege than being asked to make an engagement ring. It is a symbol of "forever" that has to be perfect. This year, we moved away from the traditional and embraced the unique—creating bespoke engagement rings in Surrey that truly reflected the couples wearing them.

Athena & Simon

One of my highlights was creating this Atlantis ring for Athena. She chose a striking asymmetrical design featuring a deep blue sapphire and diamond cluster set in platinum. For Simon, we kept it classic and substantial with a plain platinum wedding band to match.

Tim’s Proposal

For Tim, it was all about the unique hue of teal. He chose the Calista ring for his proposal—a pear-shaped teal sapphire that shifts between blue and green, accented by delicate diamonds. It’s a modern choice for a contemporary bride.

A Pop of Pink - A Bespoke Maisie Ring

We also added a splash of colour with a bespoke Maisie commission. This version was crafted in rich yellow gold, featuring a vibrant pear-shaped pink sapphire at its centre. The 5-stone design is one of my favourites for mixing cuts and colours to create something playful yet elegant.

The Perfect Fit: Wedding & Eternity Rings

A common challenge clients bring to me is finding a wedding band that fits against an unusually shaped engagement ring. Off-the-shelf rings often leave gaps or sit awkwardly.

Jo’s "Hugging" Band

For Jo, I created a bespoke white gold wedding band designed to perfectly "hug" the curves of her existing engagement ring. By shaping the band to follow the exact silhouette of her solitaire, we created a seamless, cohesive bridal set that looks like it was always meant to be together.

The Eternal Infinity

2025 also saw the creation of this Eternal Infinity ring. With its intertwining strands of white gold, black diamonds, and rubies, it’s a piece that represents never-ending flow. It’s one of my signature custom eternity bands in London—perfect for marking a major anniversary or life milestone.

The Great Transformation (Remodelling)

Perhaps the most emotional work I did this year involved jewellery remodelling.

With gold prices climbing throughout 2025 (and hitting record highs now in 2026), many of you looked into your jewellery boxes and realised you were sitting on hidden assets. But more than the financial value, it was the sentimental value that mattered.

Liz’s Heirloom Necklace

Liz came to me with a heavy gold cross necklace that had belonged to her father-in-law. The family had owned it for years, and while it was financially valuable, the style just wasn't "her."

Instead of letting it sit in a drawer, we decided to transform it. Using sections of the original gold cross, we created a unique, geometric necklace designed by her daughter.

The result is a stunning, modern piece of heirloom transformation that keeps the family history alive in a way that can actually be worn and enjoyed.

There is something magical about taking a piece of history that is gathering dust and turning it into a piece of sustainable luxury.

(If you are thinking about doing this yourself, I’ve just published a guide on how to audit your collection: 'The January Jewellery Audit' Blog Post.)

Hello, 2026

Thank you to every single client who visited the studio, sent a DM, or trusted me with their commission in 2025. Your ideas are what fuel my craft.

My diary for 2026 is now open. Whether you are looking to remodel a family heirloom, design a bespoke engagement ring, or simply treat yourself to a piece of sculptural art, I can’t wait to see what we create together next.
