What's your background and what inspired you to become a jewellery designer?

My Gran was a jewellery designer, as a child I used to sit in her work shop creating jewellery out of a pot of buttons she gave me. I used to admire her so much that I knew I wanted to be just like her from the age of 9. From my early childhood I went down the correct path in order to achieve my goal and at just 24 I launched LucyQ.

How would you describe your customers?

The majority of my customers are aged 30+, they have a great sense of style and like to be noticed. They also appreciate well made products that are of a very high quality.

What is your favourite piece of jewellery? (either made or purchased)

It has to be the big ‘Drip Necklace’ from my drip collection. This piece have been seen coming down the catwalk, it have won awards and is the piece LucyQ is known for.

Which celebrity would you love to wear your jewellery and why?

It would be amazing to see some Hollywood stars wearing a bit of LucyQ. Possibly Kate Winslet or Drew Barrymore.

If you hadnt been successful as a designer what would your plan B have been?

Anything in design. When I was studying I was very tempted to go into Product design. I seem to have a flare for designing something a bit different!! So I would have probably gone down a different design avenue.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

We have many many plans for LucyQ for the future. Soon I would love to see the brand go international by exhibiting at a few Trade fairs overseas. Plus one day I would like to have a shop of my own. So watch this space!
